The unique backrest design is one of the most interesting and fascinating elements of the 4ME product range. Besides the design itself takes inspiration from the branches of a tree, it also provides the ulitmate back support.
The most characteristic feature of 4ME is its unique backrest. The shape of the backrest fastening is not only about interesting design – it is also an important functional element. Thanks to the inner structure, the backrest can follow every move of its user easily. The four-point support ensures even distribution of force when leaning back and the specially designed spherical handles provide additional shock absorption as the backrest moves.

Seat and backrest
Seat – structure made of 7-layer beech plywood with 10,5 mm thickness, covered with foam (density: 40 kg/m3 with 70% increased flexibility), thickness: 20 mm, and foam with a density of 35 kg/m3, thickness: 10 mm. Seat cover made of polypropylene, black or white.
Backrest – structure made of plastic (mix of PP and TPE) and covered with foam, density: 25 kg/m3 – thickness: 20 mm at the front and 6 mm at the back.
Mesh backrest – backrest structure made of polyamide with glass fibre (30%), backrest connector support made of a steel flat bar with 8 mm thickness. The backrest has a height adjustment range of 60 mm. Mesh – material: 66% polyester, 34% polyamide, approvals: flammability – EN 1021 Part 1, cigarette; abrasion 200,000 cycles – EN ISO 12947–2.
Lumbar support (upholstered backrest) – lumbar support adjustment – Schukra® mechanism (front–rear, adjustment range: about 20 mm). Lumbar support (mesh backrest) – lumbar support adjustment (up&down, adjustment range: 53 mm).
Headrest – upholstered headrest for the model with the upholstered backrest, height adjustment (adjustment range: 65 mm) and headrest angle adjustment; mesh – for the mesh backrest model, adjustable headrest height (adjustment range: 65 mm) and angle.
Seat – fully upholstered: structure made of 6-layer beech plywood with 9 mm thickness and covered with a two-ply cut foam form with a density of 40 kg/m3 and 15 mm thickness, and 35 kg/m3 with 16 mm thickness. Plastic seat cover (PP) in black or white, depending on the main colour version of the chair.
Backrest – fully upholstered – structure made of 6-layer beech plywood with 9 mm thickness and covered with a cut foam form with a density of 25 kg/m3 and 20 mm thickness at the front, and a cut foam form with a density of 35 kg/m3 and 6 mm thickness.
Adjustable 2-D/4-D – structure made of PA + GF, pad made of PP + TC (polypropylene + talc):

Swivel chair – five-star base made of polyamide (black or white), polished aluminum (chromium-plated) and powder-coated in ALM (metallic version).
