Exclusive furniture system enclosed in an unusual, full-featured form. Exceptional design, attention to detail, and best quality materials make the eRange unique. The wide product line allows you to equip both a managerial office and a prestigious conference room.
We value demanding customers. We care about details. That is why the eRange, an executive furniture system, was developed at WertelOberfell design studio. The furniture system is expressed in a revolutionary and stylish form that is based on the modernist ideas of the Bauhaus and functionalism. We present a dynamic solution for those who are demanding of others, but can be demanding of themselves too.
eRange offers plenty of storage space. A fixed sideboard – an integral part of a desk, makes work organisation easier and provides access to essential documents. Its smart structure allows 100% utilisation of the space inside, offering access from both the user's side and the outside. eRange relies not only on quality, elegance and a refined form, but also on advanced functionality achieved thanks to smart solutions that have been applied. A push-to-open system used in cabinets and drawers, the mobile pedestals, the smart cable management – all this contributes to the very good praise the system enjoys for its functional qualities.
Gernot Oberfell and Jan Wertel began their career working with Ross Lovegrove, a master and designer of the Apple iMac, for many international clients. They both studied industrial design in Stuttgart.
WertelOberfell – this is the name of their own design studio established in London in 2007. Three years later, the designers opened their second studio in Munich.
Their projects reveal their interest in state-of-the-art technologies. They are a combination of logical thinking and beautiful organic shapes.
RECTANGULAR DESK WITH SLAB-END LEGS
The desk and slab-end tops consist of a carcass made of 72mm high lacquered medium density fibreboard and a 13 mm thick veneered top. The veneered top is attached to the body of the desk with detachable clips so that it can easily be removed and reassembled. The desktop is attached to the legs and frame at a 90° angle. The corners of the desktop and the legs are rounded to a 50mm radius. Inside the carcass of the desktop there is an extremely strong metal frame that is joined to the metal structure of the desk’s legs.
The metal frame is fitted in such a way that it is visible from beneath the desktop but not at all when looking around the legs. 30mm diameter metal glides are placed beneath the slab-end legs to allow levelling. The metal structure inside the desk consists of two length way profiles measuring 50×25×2 mm and four crossing struts at 50×50×2 mm – the leg frames are attached to these by means of a two Ø 30 × 2mm pipes which make up part of the bridge.
The bridge consists of a horizontal beam in which Ø 30 mm aluminium regulators of vertical beams made of 50×50 mm profile and two horizontal tubes attaching the leg to the desk are screwed. All of the individual elements of the frame and bridge are welded together. The leg is connected to the top with clamps located inside the frame, these are locked with screws from the bottom side of the top’s carcass through holes into the frame.
Once the complete desk is assembled, the frame and bridge are not visible at all. The structure of the desk makes it possible to run cabling throughout the inside of both the top and legs – these will be completely hidden. On the inside, bottom of each leg’s carcass is an unstopped outlet for cables.
The eRange system offers desktops in three shapes:
- rectangular,
- with rounded back edge,
- rounded on both sides.
