More than 20 products by Nowy Styl with the EPD
More and more products in our portfolio can boast the EPD – a globally recognised declaration that describes their environmental impact. Thanks to the detailed analysis of the product’s life cycle, energy used to manufacture it and recycling options we can respond to the environmental requirements of our clients.
What is EPD card?
EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) cards is the environmental declaration for product. This declaration is a document verified by the third party and officially registered. It provides information on the environmental impacts of the product throughout its entire life cycle, in accordance with the following standards: EN ISO 14025 (Environmental labels and declarations – Type III environmental declarations – Rules and procedures) and EN ISO 14040 (Environmental Management – Life Cycle Assessment – Principles and structure).
The EPD cards are increasingly a requirement of commercial projects in which Nowy Styl participate. They enable the submission of offers in the so-called "green public procurement". EPD cards for Nowy Styl products are being prepared by the Building Research Institute in Warsaw, (ITB) which is a research institute authorized to issue such documents (member of the European ECO Platform).

Environmental awareness: a project group at Nowy Styl
We made first efforts towards environmental declarations a few years ago. Back in 2018 Nowy Styl appointed a few of its employees to form an international project group working towards a gradual improvement of our operations with regard to closed circuit, carbon footprint and eco-design. As a result of these efforts, in 2019 we obtained the CO2 Performance Ladder certificate and EPD, which are now applicable to more than 20 of our products.
At the moment, we are working on obtaining further EPDs for the Xilium chair, for the Forum Seating line and for two soft-seating models. In these declarations we will provide a detailed life cycle assessment (LCA) and describe the total environmental impact of these products.
